This was a reply to one of those people who were from Israel Allah knows best he seemed like a Jew but not on hsb anymore.

Daniel 4:17 "'The decision is announced by messengers, the holy ones declare the verdict, so that the living may know that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes and sets over them the lowliest of people

A government which is not from God and doesn't have its legislation executed from a holy one or messenger, is not from God and unjustice will happen as a result of this.

Nebuchadnezzar was a corrupt ruler/leader because he didn't have the faculties and discernment Daniel peace be upon him had.

Daniel 6:4

At this, the administrators and the satraps tried to find grounds for charges against Daniel in his conduct of government affairs, but they were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent.

Proverbs 8:15 By me kings reign and rulers issue decrees that are just.

Kings that are appointed from God are not Kings who are appointed by people.Ofcourse,not any person can become a holy one,a messenger or a viceroy/leader he must come with valid proof to justify himself, so that he can be a religiously valid leader. Remember that the Torat,Bible and Quran, all these books never declared as what you said:

"government can keep its people down and under control...then they can rule, as they please."
Throughout all the government's in history the most just and perfect governments were those ruled by the holy ones, as we call them "infallibles" who dont misguide the people and are Divinely appointed.

If the government is established behind such methods and constitutions which are created from man, then its just like saying the government of Goliath during the time of David pbuh had more freedom because the people chose him and Goliath can rule as he pleases. Moreover, even Nebuchadnezzar can rule as he pleases according to this logic and that is why religious texts deny such a method because the religious texts go with the method of God and what the holy ones adopted.

Prophet David's government was God's government and not the government of a king whose chosen by people or by oppressors,corrupt leaders. So, ultimately the savior who is going to arrive and spread justice, his legislations are Divine and he is the one to execute the rulings, his decrees are from God and are free from any crookedness and high-sounding nonsense.


Isaiah 9:
7 Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness
